Memphis Wedding Photography :: Ellen & Alan’s Garden Wedding!

We absolutely loved everything about Ellen & Alan’s wedding day! This couple was so very sweet together, and their happiness was contagious from the beginning with their first look! You can see from Alan’s face how incredibly excited he was to see his bride for the first time, and we’re sure that was only partly because of how gorgeous Ellen looked! Ellen also requested to have a special moment with her brother and Father seeing her for the first time, which made for such a sweet moment, and we loved seeing their reactions, as well!

Their wedding at the Memphis Botanic Gardens was absolutely gorgeous with all the flowers in bloom! A few raindrops threatened to keep the couple from doing photos in the garden, but nothing was going to stop these two as the headed out armed with an umbrella. Fortunately, they didn’t need it long as the skies soon cleared up!

Their reception was so much fun and everyone got in on helping the couple celebrate as they spent the evening dancing to The Band Entice! We had such a wonderful time, and were so glad to be able to capture Ellen & Alan’s big day!

We love all of our Ramblin’ Rose families, but we’re sorry dads and kids…this weekend is all about the mommies!! We’re sending out our love to all the moms out there and hope they’re getting pampered, treated and loved even more than usual this Sunday!

The photos we capture of a mother with her child are always some our of favorite moments because they are so full of love and emotion! In honor of Mother’s Day, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite mommy shots from the past year and hope they bring a smile to your face this weekend! Memphis Wedding Photographers :: The New Mr. and Mrs. Jones!!

Angela and Reggie booked us over a year before their wedding, and as we worked with them over the past year, we kept getting more and more excited for their big day! Clearly not ones to disappoint, their wedding, planned with the help of Amy Miller Weddings and Events, was absolutely gorgeous and so much fun!! This wedding was all about the details! Well, and the wonderful couple…and a great wedding party…and delicious food. This wedding definitely had it all!

The ceremony was held at the Greater Middle Baptist Church in Memphis, Tenessee and was followed by a reception at the beautiful Memphis Botanic Gardens. With the beautiful venue and amazing weather, Angela and Reggie’s wedding day was pretty much perfect and we loved every second of it!

The Winds of Change are Blowing at Ramblin’ Rose Photography!

The winds of change have been blowing around at Ramblin’ Rose and I have lots of new things to tell you guys about. First, we have moved our office to a new location on Appling Road right around the corner from our old studio. This new office is where Elaine will be taking care of all the day to day details of Ramblin’ Rose Photography & I will be meeting with potential and current clients for wedding consults and ordering sessions. This location is also where you can pick up print orders, albums, etc. Our goal for the new space was to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere for clients and give it a bit of a modern twist. We are really enjoying it and we hope you guys love it to!

Second, I will still have a portrait studio but it is now located in my home in Arlington. Honestly, I really did a lot of soul searching before I made this decision. Mainly because I thought it was going to be tough to give up that huge studio but I didn’t use 1/2 of the space in the other place and I just wanted to simplify my life a bit and I know you can all relate to that on some level. When I started working on the home studio, my goal was to create an intimate space with a whimsical and rustic vibe. My other studio was big and everything was so spread out so I just wanted to, here’s that word again, simplify. We also live on a small lake with lots of trees which makes for the perfect outdoor location for portraits. Clients will no longer have to pick indoor or outdoor because we can easily do a little of both. I adore the new little studio and I hope you guys will come visit me often!

Aside from the home studio and the natural lake setting in my backyard, Arlington has an awesome little town square that is within walking distance from my house. Other photographers use this location but I have rarely gotten the opportunity to shoot here so I am excited to use it more often. It has a little bit of everything! Check out the photos below to see some of the cool backdrop options for your next session. In case you were wondering, the Arlington exit is only about 12 minutes past the Appling exit and it will totally be worth the drive! xoxo

Memphis Wedding Photographer :: A Beautiful Day to Get Married!

Christie and John’s wedding day was absolutely beautiful, thanks, in part, to the gorgeous weather! Of course, the adorable couple didn’t hurt, either.

The two chose to see each other for a first look before their ceremony, which is a moment we always love capturing as the bride and groom have an intimate moment seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day! After a sweet ceremony at Independent Presbyterian Church, the party really got going at Pink Palace in Memphis, Tennessee, as the crowd danced and rocked out to the band, Almost Famous!

We had such a wonderful time with John and Christie and love the photos of this sweet couple!!

Memphis Wedding Photographers :: Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Phillips!!

It did not take us long to completely fall in love with this sweet couple, Ivy and John, on their wedding day! They are both such wonderful people, and their wedding was elegant, sophisticated, and absolutely beautiful!

Ivy looked breathtaking in her dress, and we especially loved the delicate lace cover she wore during their ceremony at Second Presbyterian. Planned by Mona Dunlap, Ivy and John’s day was full of great details and beautiful flowers designed by Garden District! The party kicked off at the Memphis Hunt and Polo Club where delicious food, gorgeous lighting and the always entertaining Party Planet had everyone in the mood to celebrate!

We are so glad we got to be a part of Ivy and John’s big day and wish these two all the best as they begin this next chapter in their lives as husband and wife!

Memphis Wedding Photographers :: Mr. King and His Dancing Queen!!

A couple weeks ago we shared Virginia’s bridal portraits with you, and now we’re back to share the photos from her and William’s wedding day!! These two are SO sweet and were so much fun on their big day!

Virginia and William held their ceremony and reception at The Cadre building in downtown Memphis, Tennessee and their happiness was so obvious to everyone present. They have so much fun together, and one of our favorite things about their wedding photos is that there is literally not one photo where William does not have a huge, happy smile on his face! We love that after looking at their photos, it really did seem to be one of the best days of Virginia and William’s lives!

We knew we were in for a fun evening at the reception when the couple was introduced as “Mr. King and his dancing queen,” and the couple entered, dancing from the start as they danced around the room, encouraging guests to join in on a conga line! The energy stayed high all night as everyone was up out of their seats, boogying all night!

Congratulations to Virginia and William, we know you will have a very happy and very FUN marriage!

Well, this little cutie completely nailed his 4 month shoot! Well done, Jim! :) With his ADORABLE smiles and laugh, we fell pretty hard for this guy! He was so happy throughout the entire session, which made our job pretty easy! Though having to choose between all the photos for this blog was pretty hard, so I guess it all balances out.

Just try not to smile while you look at the photos of this handsome man!!

We absolutely love when we get a chance to do a “just for fun” session with two of our favorite redheads! McKenna and Audrey are such wonderful models, and they are usually just as excited as we are to have their photos taken! We recently got this new backdrop and wanted the chance to experiment with it a bit before we broke it out for other clients, and we have to say, it’s pretty awesome!!

These girls are so adorable and photogenic…we have a feeling someone’s dad should be a little nervous once these girls are old enough to start dating because the boys are going to be lining up!!
